Polish Intelligent Development Award 2020 - nominated

Dr. Eng. Andrzej Musiał was nominated for the Polish Intelligent Development Award 2020 in the category of Future Scientist for the project "Magnetically hard materials without lanthanides obtained from structurally metastable phases" financed by the National Science Center.

Nominations for the Polish Intelligent Development Award are granted to people who set trends in intelligent and sustainable development, influencing the ever-changing market.

Scientific Workshop "Summer with Helium"

Summer with Helium

From June 29 to July 10 the XXXVI Scientific Workshop "Summer with Helium" will be held. The theme of this year's workshop is "Physics of Tomorrow". Exceptionally, for the first time in 35 years, the workshop will not take place in Odolanów, but will be available online on the YouTube channel Science 5.0.

First year of "Molecular Physics Kindergarten"

Przedszkole Fizyki Molekularnej

"Molecular Physics Kindergarten" is a new offer of IMP PAS addressed to high school students. The goal of "Kindergarten" is to familiarize young people with current scientific issues and their participation in research carried at the Institute.

The first year 2019/2020 lectures were attended by students of three high schools: Zespół Szkół Nr 1 im. Powstańców Wielkopolskich in Swarzędz, XXXVIII Dwujęzyczne Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Jana Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego in Poznań and Liceum Ogólnokształcące Św. Marii Magdaleny in Poznań.

We invite schools and young physics enthusiasts to cooperate with us in the next school year. Details will be available soon on our website.

„NIGHT FOR EARTH” 2020 in IMP PAS

Our Institute has become an official partner and co-organizer of the European Researchers' Night in Poznań, and the beneficiary of the project H2020-MSCA-NIGHT-2020 "Scientists from various fields teach us how to care for the planet on a daily basis. Nightforearth" (The European Researchers' Night), Horizon 2020 (EU). The application for financing of this year's event received the maximum number of points from the European Commission. The project coordinator on the part of the Institute of Molecular Physics PAS is dr inż. Dorota Dardas.

The European Researchers' Night at the Institute of Molecular Physics PAS has been organized for two years. Until now, it took place in the form of the event "In the labyrinth of physics", which accompanied the Europe-wide celebration of the Researchers' Night.

Due to the current epidemic situation, the event date has been moved to November 27th, 2020, and the program and organization of the event will be adapted to changing conditions on an ongoing basis.

New research projects for IFM PAN

National Science Centre (NCN)

Two our scientists have been granted within the 35th edition of NCN competitions.

Mgr inż. Sylwia Zięba, will carry out research for PRELUDIUM 18 project "Influence of temperature and pressure on the helical hydrogen bond network of a new solid electrolytes.” (funding amount - 209 996 PLN).

Dr Mirosław Werwiński, received funding for the project under the new PRELUDIUM BIS 1 competition, which main goal is to support the education of doctoral students in doctoral schools and to finance research projects carried out by doctoral students as part of their doctoral dissertation . The applicant received 444,000 PLN for the project "Future permanent magnets from design".

Dr. eng. Krzysztof Ptaszyński became a laureate of the START 2020 programme

Dr. eng. Krzysztof Ptaszyński has received prestigious START 2020 stipend of the Foundation for Polish Science.

The stipend of Dr. eng. Krzysztof Ptaszyński has been distinguished and his achievements and scientific achievement were considered outstanding and received the highest rank in the competition.

The goal of the START programme is "to serve as recognition of the scientific attainments so far by these young scholars and as an incentive for further growth by enabling them to devote themselves fully to their research”.

NCBiR call for proposals - Fast Path "Coronaviruses"

Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju

The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR) announces a new program for Polish scientists and entrepreneurs working on diagnostics, treatment and prevention of viral diseases. The aim of this program financed from European Funds is to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemics, including SARS-CoV-2. The solutions and innovations developed within this program are intended not only to provide ongoing assistance, but also to contribute to thinking about a secure future in a wider context.

The call for proposals will start on May 6 and end on December 31, 2020. The program budget is PLN 200 million.
