Objectives:
The conference is planned to be an interdisciplinary meeting, which has:
- to bring together theorists and experimentalists in material science, nanotechnology and in processing of molecular devices;
- to stimulate research by clarifying how the needs of microchip technologies match our knowledge of fundamental processes in molecular scale;
- to build a bridge between those who study physics at molecular scale and those who stimulate technological steps to make money.
The subjects of the workshop will be focused on the following areas:
- fundamental scientific issues for molecular technology;
- electron correlations in molecular conductors;
- synthesis, assembly, and processing of molecular systems (including fullerene-derived materials);
- experimental characterisations and probes of molecular structures;
- theory, modelling and simulations of molecular electronic devices.
The main goals are:
- to stimulate discussion on current problems in molecular electronics and nanotechnology;
- to search for new concepts of molecular devices;
- to assess a high level of understanding in physics of molecular structures;
- to bring together young physicists from Poland and newly associated states and to acquaint them with basic ideas and experiences of prominent scientists.
